aftermarket digital cluster, how to choose?

To benz cars, now market has the new digital cluster, for GLC/C

w205, x253, there is 3 different solutions. Means has at least 3

factories.

In this article, we will give some introduction based on the info we

know

The 1st generation one

Functions for 1st generation

1.GPS/traffic signal recog functions can not be added

2.the bluetooth , Radio, media info not support

3.car with HUD/ AMG did not test, can not fit, for hybird car need

charging battery can not

4.Automatic parking can not support

Highlight:

• support oem radio

• Has builtin carplay-but carplay operation via cellphone, not wheel

button

Disadvantages

• Some basic functions like tempeture F and C switching not has

• Time mode 24h and 12h not have switching

• To canbus part-which decide car OEM fuctions if can display or

not via cluster, this one is no good than 1st generation

Highlight and disadvantage for 3rd generation

Hightlight:

• This use part PCB of OEM cluster, so to CANBUS part, functions

like radio+autohold+ gps+ traffic sign reading parts said all can

support, like oem cluster has, then this has, but not test yet

• This font clients like it, but not have the newest 1st generation one

• Support carplay, but not builtin, need buy their android unit.

Disadvantages:

• Installation need more time than other 2

• If want to have the top function carplay and SYNC with screen,

must buy their android unit.
